Meet the Owner

OVERCOMER is one word that describes Arnold E. Boyd, Jr. Today as an entrepreneur, Certified Life Coach, business consultant, and mentor to thousands, he’s passionate about helping people not to give up on themselves. Even though he was diagnosed with a learning disability, experienced physical and mental abuse, battled with homelessness, and dealt with his mother severe illness…Boyd didn’t let that stop him. Surpassing life’s obstacles, Boyd has remained a scholar in the classroom and the basketball court. He graduated in the top 10 of his class at River Rouge High School in River Rouge, MI.
Boyd also faced many crossroads in life, one in particular that landed him adapting to street life. Once serving as a high-ranking officer within the Black Mafia Family or better known as B.M.F., resulted in the consequences of a brief prison stint. Learning from his choices as a young adult, Boyd made a life-changing decision to return to his true self. With a heart of servitude, Boyd strives to live a life of service to all mankind. From his entrepreneurial skills and street smarts, he has spent the last two decades building multiple businesses, donating his time and resources to those in need.
Drawing from his own experiences, Boyd’s passion for the safety of today’s youth speaks through his
efforts within the student transportation services industry. With 20 years of industry expertise, Boyd has
provided safe, reliable, continuous, and cost-effective transportation services throughout the state of
Michigan. Boyd is the owner of Student Transportation Services, where the company currently oversees
the daily commute for local area students within the metropolitan Detroit area.
Building on his service within the community, Boyd sought to beautify one of the landmarks within
Detroit oldest neighborhoods, the Beverly Theatre. Closed in 1937 and now under a $15 million dollar
renovation and renamed the Beverly Events Center, the building will offer two-banquet facilities, a state-
of-the-art recording studio, classrooms, a variety of dining options, and a 1500-seat theater. The Beverly
will return as a beacon of health, community, and entertainment within its neighborhood.
Boyd is an entrepreneur, a Certified Life Coach, a business consultant, and a mentor to the next
generation of self-made individuals.
Boyd did not stop there. In 2016, he embarked on his most meaningful endeavor, Wake Up, Inc. now
recognized as The Arnold Boyd Foundation. The Arnold Boyd Foundation is a 501c3 organization committed to developing Metro Detroit communities and enriching today’s youth. Through outreach, the foundation brings awareness and equitable resources focusing on educational and financial literacy, food assistance, substance abuse and awareness, and domestic relations to all residents within Metro Detroit communities.
The organization’s signature program, “Adopt-A-School” has served as a productive arm to Detroit communities with hopes of intercepting any dangerous temptations which may fall into the paths of today’s youth. To date, the Arnold Boyd Foundation has provided food assistance, field trips, after-school literacy-focused programs, winter wear drives, mentoring opportunities, and peer mediation coaching to local students and the residents of the Littlefield community in Detroit. When he is not operating The Arnold Boyd Foundation and his various companies, Boyd’s most rewarding job is being a loving father of 5.
